In September 1949, the first issue of the magazine “Philatelist” was published, whose publisher and founder is the Union of Philatelists of Serbia. Philately as a collecting activity in Serbia records its beginnings in the past century, and has experienced a momentum as an organized activity shortly after the end of World War II. This magazine played a significant role in increasing the popularity of philately in Serbia.

Today, the mission of organized philately in Serbia is realized, among other things, through this national magazine, and so far, a total of 281 issues of “Philatelist” have been published.
