The SFS is a member of the International Philatelic Federation (FIP), the Federation of European Philatelic Associations (FEPA) and the Association of Balkan Countries (BALKANFILA).

The International Philatelic Federation (FIP, Fédération Internationale de Philatélie) is an international organization that brings together national philatelic associations around the world. It was founded with the aim of promoting and developing philately, as well as the study of postage stamps and postal history.

The main objectives of the FIP include the promotion of philately, cooperation between national philatelic associations, setting standards and organizing philatelic exhibitions, as well as supporting activities to increase knowledge and awareness of philately.

Within the International Philatelic Federation (FIP), several commissions and groups are active, organized according to different areas of philately. These commissions deal with specific aspects of philately, including classification, evaluation and development of certain areas. The Serbian Philatelic Union (SFS) takes an active part in the following areas:

The Federation of European Philatelic Associations (FEPA) is an international organization that brings together national philatelic unions and associations from Europe. It was founded with the aim of encouraging and coordinating the development of philately in Europe and promoting cooperation among its members.

BALKANFILA

BALKANFILA is a regional philatelic organization that brings together philatelic unions and associations from the countries of the Balkan Peninsula. Its main goal is to encourage cooperation between the countries of this region through philately, as well as to promote the cultural and historical heritage reflected in postage stamps, postal history and related fields.

BALKANFILA is not a permanent institution, but an organization that operates on the principle of cooperation and coordination between national philatelic unions, and whose main activity is the organization of the BALKANFILA philatelic exhibition that rotates among its members, which allows each country to host and showcase its organizational potential.
