SRBIJAFILA XVI stands as a celebration of two historic jubilees of Serbian philately – 75 years since the very first national stamp exhibition of 1951 and 160 years since the printing of the first Serbian definitive postage stamp, the Prince Michael issue of 1866.
International participation is foreseen, featuring exhibitors from philatelic federations across the former Yugoslav region – Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and North Macedonia.
SRBIJAFILA XVI takes place in the building of the Military Club of Serbia, a building at the city centre. The building was built in the spirit of modern architecture with elements of expressionism of the forties of the twentieth century.

The Philatelic Association of Serbia presents the catalogue of the exhibition dedicated to the historical development of the postal service in Serbia in the 19th and early 20th centuries, which covers the period of the Principality and Kingdom of Serbia, known among philatelists as “Classical Serbia”. This period, extremely important for the formation of the institutions of the modern Serbian state, is illuminated through the prism of philately, as evidence of social, political and cultural changes.
The exhibition and catalogue are the result of years of thorough research, which connects the emergence of postal issues with broader historical and social circumstances. Through stamps, cancellations, tariffs and other postal elements, the catalogue reveals the way in which Serbia was involved in European and world trends, built its institutions and established an administrative order. Of particular value are the extremely rare specimens from the author’s collection, some of which are being presented to the public for the first time.
The catalogue is not intended exclusively for philatelists, but also for all those who cherish an interest in the cultural heritage and national identity of Serbia. At the same time, it reminds us of the importance of preserving postal and archival materials as parts of a unique cultural heritage.
The catalogue is published courtesy of the PTT Museum and the author Predrag Cuki Antic.
